The conference will establish a framework for collaboration and productive dialogue between scholars, military professionals, and policymakers who are dealing with border and homeland security challenges facing the US and its allies in the post-9/11 strategic environment. Its main objectives are to:
- Bring together a high-profile international and multidisciplinary group of scholars, experts, and practitioners involved in different ways and at different levels with the complex intersection of borders, technology, and security;
- Review the state of our interdisciplinary knowledge on this intersection and assess its ramification for post-9/11 strategic thinking;
- Identify and explore new strategic and security-related research themes and priorities in these areas;
- Through publishable research, share and disseminate such knowledge.
